Handspun and woven by nomad women of  the Lhagang grasslands, this blanket is made of a natural mix of yak  down and guard hairs, just as it comes of the animal.  The  black-and-white railroad pattern is classic for this area.  The  weaving is done on a backstrap loom and is a tabby weave.  After  weaving a long strip, the pieces are sewn together by men to make a  rug.
