| These fabrics are known collectively as nambe. The white is made of 100% Tibetan sheep wool. It is spun on a makeshift drop spindle and woven on a handmade wooden loom by farming women in Dranggu (Hor) County. The brown is made of pure 100% yak down, which was carefully separated from coarser hairs, before undergoing the same process. This yak hair nambe was made by nomad women in Lhagang District. Both cloths are felted with boiling water to soften them, but the yak down is the softer of the two, with a luxurious softness. It is soft enough that the popular Western term for it has become “yashmere.” OUT OF STOCK
